34 Household Empowerment Consultants have been already selected for the project ERTAD (Empowerment, Resilience, Transformation And Development) who started undergoing on-the-job training.
From October 31 until November 3, the selected Household Empowerment Consultants participated in intensive training on the poverty alleviation UPG (Ultra-Poor Graduation) methodology and principles as well as other important topics such as the rights of children and the rule of law, disability-related issues, gender equity and inclusion, women's economic empowerment, family visiting procedures and other important themes. The course advances the knowledge, skills and competencies, that will help them fulfil their job and work individually with target families.
Tamila Barkalaia, Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, attended the opening of the sessions; she highlighted the importance of the project and its mission for alleviating poverty in the country and wished the participants good luck.
At the end of the training specific guidelines based on the expertise of World Vision and Danish Refugee Council in Georgia were provided to the consultants, which will help them to effectively implement UPG approaches. The consultants have been equipped with substantial knowledge that will allow them to better serve the beneficiary households, empower the families and help them achieve their goals, which will eventually contribute to the successful implementation of the project towards combating poverty in the country.
The training modules were designed and conducted by implementing partners within the project ERTAD implemented by by Danish Refugee Council in Georgia with the active involvement of consortium partners World Vision Georgia and LEPL Social Service Agency within the joint project.
The project ERTAD is implemented by consortium members - World Vision Georgia (WVG), World Vision Germany, Danish Refugee Council in Georgia (DRC) and LEPL Social Service Agency (SSA) with the financial support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
