World Vision Georgia supports young changemakers through the SKYE NET Project, helping them turn their innovative ideas into real impact.
In May, young Georgian social entrepreneurs took part in the International Forum for Social Entrepreneurship - a unique space for open dialogue, knowledge exchange, and inspiration. The forum was not just an event, but a space for authentic dialogue, exchange of visions and inspiration for the future of social entrepreneurship in the region. Held together with experts and leaders from Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova, the forum emphasized a powerful idea: Business can be more than just profit, they can be solutions for communities.
During the forum, the Social Entrepreneurship Guide was presented by IRIS Business Incubator, which provides essential tools and a solid knowledge base to promote social entrepreneurship and encourage creative thinking among youth, contributing to the development of sustainable and impactful businesses. The guide also serves as a practical resource for educational organizations, business service providers, and SKYE clubs who can use this information in their future activity.
Irakli Giorbelidze, Youth Programs Coordinator at World Vision Georgia, shared a regional analysis of gaps in support systems for young entrepreneurs — offering valuable insights and pathways for collaboration.
In a dynamic panel discussion, experts and young leaders explored:
To wrap up their experience, participants visited local social enterprises in Moldova where participants saw first-hand how business can create social impact — sparking ideas and motivation to bring back home.
"I found the social entrepreneurship guide particularly insightful. It was also inspiring to meet young entrepreneurs from Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova, to hear their ideas, and to learn about the businesses they have already started. Visiting local social enterprises and seeing their work firsthand left a strong impression on me. I believe forums like this play a vital role in strengthening the social entrepreneurship ecosystem across different countries,"- shared Ekaterine, Forum participant from Georgia.
With every connection and shared idea, these young leaders are getting closer to building a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient future.
The SKYE Net project is co-funded by the European Union under its EU4Youth Programme and implemented by World Vision Georgia, World Vision Armenia, MilleniuM Training and Development Institute (Moldova), and IRIS Business Incubator (Armenia).
