The Ambassador of the European Union met SKYE Club youth in Kakheti
24 March

World Vision Georgia hosted the Ambassador of the European Union, Mr. Paweł Herczynski, meeting young SKYE Club members in Kakheti.

With the support of the European Union, youth clubs operate in various regions of Georgia, providing young people with opportunities to develop skills and gain new knowledge that will help them achieve future success and career advancement.

The members of the youth club in Kakheti warmly welcomed the Ambassador, engaged in an interesting discussion with him, shared their experiences gained at the club, and asked numerous questions. According to the young participants, rural areas have limited resources for youth, making the SKYE (Skills and Knowledge for Youth Economic Opportunities) club a crucial platform for empowering and developing adolescents.
🇪🇺For years, the European Union has been a steadfast supporter of young people, ensuring their well-being and fostering their development. Over this period, local youth have significantly benefited from the programme:

  • 26 SKYE youth clubs established across the country.
  • More than 5,200 young people equipped with practical skills and experience for employment.
  • Over 60,000 young people benefited from community initiatives.
  • 100+ community projects implemented in municipalities with the leadership of young changemakers.
  • Increased awareness, engagement, and advocacy on child protection issues.

SKYENET – Skills and Knowledge for Youth Empowerment Network is a key initiative that provides young people in the region with new opportunities, valuable knowledge, and experiences while also connecting them with their peers in other countries. The project is funded by the European Union under the 🇪🇺 EU4Youth programme and is implemented across multiple countries by World Vision Georgia, World Vision Armenia, MilleniuM Training and Development Institute (Moldova), and IRIS Business Incubator (Armenia).
