Memorandum of Understanding with the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC)

Today, World Vision Georgia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) aimed at raising awareness and sharing information on immunization and COVID-19 vaccination in Georgia.


        The memorandum was signed by Ekaterine Gurgenadze – Director of World Vision Georgia and Deputy Director of Science at the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Georgia (NCDC) - Paata Imnadze. Upon completion of the ceremony, a working meeting was held among parties to discuss joint initiatives and awareness raising campaigns planned throughout year.


         Within the framework of the Memorandum, educational meetings will be organized for the representatives of general and pre-school educational institutions - teachers, educators and other specialists, as well as for the medical staff of primary health care facilities; Moreover, World Vision Georgia in coordination with NCDC will and disseminate various information-educational materials on the importance of vaccination  and disseminate at schools and preschool institutions.

         The training sessions will be led by leading specialists of  NCDC, who will provide the participants with the latest information about COVID-19 pandemic in the world; the importance of vaccination and its role in stopping the Covid-19 pandemic; challenges in process of vaccination and the acceptance of Covid vaccines both in Georgia and in the world.


        This year World Vision Georgia joined the European Immunization Week 2021 and organized educational meetings in Kakheti and Imereti to support the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health in raising awareness on the importance of immunization and COVID-19 vaccination in regions. Later this year, World Vision Georgia will organize educational meetings in other target municipalities of Georgia.
