World Vision Georgia launched the EU-funded project fostering inclusive and sustainable growth in Georgia
07 October

With support of the European Union, World Vision Georgia launched a new project aimed at fostering inclusive and sustainable growth in Georgia. With a focus on the agriculture and building sectors, the project Inclusive Growth through Sustainable and Green Business Practices in Georgia is committed to promoting the development of green skills, enhancing the VET curriculum, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting sustainable business practices.

Georgia's highest greenhouse gas emissions come from energy, agriculture, and building sector. To address environmental issues and support the implementation of sustainable business practices, three key objectives  should be achieved:

  • Improved skills and sustainable business practices amongst the workforce and current and future SMEs in the agriculture sector.
  • Improved skills and sustainable energy efficient practices amongst the current and future SMEs in the building sector and selected industries.
  • Improved reputation of sustainable VET professions with youth and relevant target stakeholders.

The program covers following regions: Imereti, Kakheti, Adjara (Batumi) and the capital Tbilisi.  The project is carried out jointly by World Vision Austria, World Vision Georgia, Georgian Farmer’s Association and Energy Efficiency Centre Georgia with the financial support of the European Union and Austrian Development Agency.
