In September 2020, the mapping and the assessment of non-regulated institutions administered by Muslim denomination and local Municipalities has been conducted with the initiative of World Vision Georgia. Recently 29 large size institutions still remain functional in Georgia.
The following large size child care institutions have been assessed:
- Boarding institutions administered by Local Municipalities
- Boarding institutions administered by Georgian Orthodox Church
- Boarding institutions administered by Muslim denomination
World Vision Georgia with its partners continues working on development of a deinstitutionalization strategy and action plan within the framework of the EU-funded project "Reinforcing Child Protection and Welfare System in Georgia".
