World Vision Georgia's official statement about the incident in Ninotsminda
04 June

World Vision Georgia responds to the incident occurring in Ninotsminda boarding house and supports the transparent and proper response actions executed by the relevant authorities against the violation of children's rights within the mentioned institution.

World Vision Georgia expresses its readiness to facilitate the transition of the Ninotsminda Boarding School and most importantly, the protection of the children living there,  through providing assistance for the personnel of the State Care Authorities and the Social Department of the Georgian Patriarchate, so that they ensure proper placement of children in individual forms of care determined and tailored to the children's interests.

World Vision Georgia actively works with the state institutions and the Georgian Patriarchate on development of the deinstitutionalisation strategy and action plan that envisages the replacement of large child care facilities with alternative forms of care addressing individual needs of the children.

World Vision Georgia together with partner organisations has conducted evaluation of large size child care institutions and currently works on the development of specific recommendations as well as targeted action plan. The finalized document will be available for the interested parties and stakeholders.
